This upcoming winter I'll be starting my first campaign as Dungeon Master, and am a bit daunted by the sheer amount of information there is to know. I've got what I think is a pretty satisfactory story and world set up, but am lacking in more mechanical knowledge about how to make the game play out as effectively as possible.
I don't have as much experience playing D&D as I'd like, with three campaigns started but never finished. Two were in 4E and one was pathfinder. My only experience with 5E is from listening to The Adventure Zone lol. My goal for my own campaign is to really get one to completion, and I'm hoping with the decent story and the good party I've scrounged up I can achieve that.
Any tips, advice, and resources would be really welcome, even just mentioning which sections of the handbooks are most important to learn thoroughly would be a huge help (I have the PDFs for them but have only skimmed through a couple sections).
