What's the best way to orient yourself if you haven't played in awhile?

So I took a long break with the start of creation club but I want to pick up the game again (As soon as the newest F4SE is released)

I'm prone to starting over with these types of things over and over if I don't finish them all the way. I don't want to do that.

So how can I figure out what the hell I was doing before I quit? Keeping in mind I have mods and need to go back and read what they were for.
