Brief analysis of the Slate article about getting men out of the workplace.

I think the article is meant to serve multiple purposes.

Firstly, I think it is a deliberate troll meant to drive clicks, both from those who will get annoyed at the man-bashing and from those who will get off on the idea of men getting annoyed by the man-bashing and who will enjoy the article itself, telling themselves "It's funny because it's true!"

While the outer wrappings of the article are satire, the body of it seems to be written as if to say "We're joking--or are we? Wink. Wink." Pro-feminist types can chuckle at the hyperbolic elements while going on to say "Well, there are actually a lot of good points here. I mean, just look at all of the real-life examples they link to!" -- however, as soon as someone starts critically addressing those points or offers counter-arguments they will be hand-waved away by claims that it is all just satire and that none of it is meant to be taken seriously (and you're an idiot for doing so).
