Voting has opened for the 2018 What Car? Reader Award, with 12 cars competing for readers’ votes as the most anticipated car of 2018.
Voting closes in less than a month, after which the winner will be announced at the What Car? Awards in January.
The shortlist for the 2018 What Car? Reader Award is made up of:
- BMW X2
- Dacia Duster
- Citroën C5 Aircross
- Ford Fiesta ST
- Jaguar I-Pace
- Lexus LS
- Mercedes-Benz A-Class
- Seat’s seven-seat SUV
- Audi E-Tron
- Volkswagen Up GTI
- Kia Ceed
- Tesla Model 3
Last year’s winner, the Honda Civic Type R, took the award by a considerable margin, so this year’s competitors will be keen to accrue as many votes as possible.
What Car? editor Steve Huntingford said: “It’s great to see the sensational line-up of cars readers have to choose from this year, with it proving new car buyers will be spoiled for choice in 2018.”
“The Reader Award is a particularly significant one for both manufacturers and the car buyers looking for their next vehicle because the public determines the winner. The highly sought-after prize offers a good indication of the potential success new cars might have in the coming year.”
